New Organ Trio Now Booking Dates

The New Organ Trio is:

GUITAR: BEN SHER

DRUMS: SYLVIA CUENCA

ORGAN: GARY FISHER

Ben Sher - Guitar

Growing up in Pittsburgh, I spent my formative years playing in that great soulful jazz tradition, working with the great Gene Ludwig and Cecil Brooks, and having the chance to be on the bandstand with Stanley Turrentine. I've taken my love of Brazilian music and along with a couple great players we've developed a style which has that 'bluesy feeling' and can really get inside of Brazilian grooves. We'll be premiering music from my new recording Tempestade this summer, stay tuned!

Sylvia Cuenca - Drums

Sylvia Cuenca is an active drummer on the New York jazz scene who has had the honor of sharing the bandstand with saxophone legend Joe Henderson for 4 years and trumpet legend Clark Terry for 17 years. She has also performed with Billy Taylor, Frank Foster, Houston Person, Etta Jones, Michael Brecker, Kenny Barron, Eddie Henderson, Dave Stryker, Paul Bollenback, Catherine Russell, Dianne Reeves and many others.
